Digital Distortion of Beethoven's 9th

This audio piece explores the fragile nature of our new digital world by saving and distorting the perceived beauty of the final movement of Beethoven’s 9th symphony. As the piece progresses the spaces that exist between the slices of music that form what we hear are slowly revealed. Successive generations of the same file, saved and compressed, are layered on top of one another until the original becomes unrecognizable, exposing a new sound-scape of noise and melody.
